Hello World
It's Joy here. I know you wondered what happened to me. Well, let me tell you. Rob and I are with Howard Hanna Real Estate and loving it. Why didn't we do this earlier in our lives. Love the office manager, love the staff, and love our fellow realtors. We work as a team and that is a beautiful thing. Rob and I listed 43 lots in West Harbor Landings. I started a website www.WestHarborCommunities.com to show others how great this community is. Living here has to many benefits. One of them being within walking distance to the E. Harbor beaches. It's A New Day-It's A New Life For Me!!!
Okay so we shifted gears a little and have found a new vocation. Real Estate--how novel an idea is that for people who love the area and love working with people and showing them Lake Erie properties. From Johnson's Island to Bass Haven to Put In Bay, there are some of the prettiest properties available. Whatever your price range there are places for you. It's a New Decade
The community is dealing with the cold and icy roads. I wish the county cleared our roads a little better though. In Columbus there were road crews out all the time salting and clearing the roads. I am almost afraid to drive here and many days can't even take my car out because it's not four wheel drive. But why gripe about such a small thing? All in all, living in Marblehead is just about perfect. How about telling me your gripes and I will post them. As you are driving around remember to keep a safe distance from the car in front of you and drive like you might be in the sideditch the next minute--because you might!!!! Enjoy your day.

It's the Time for Giving
I am so impressed at how giving this community is. Last Sunday we went to Mon Ami for their annual TreeARama to support the Salvation Army. Area residents and businesses donated decorated Christmas trees and wreaths to be auctioned off. All funds went to the Salvation Army. Thousands of dollars were raised to help the needy. Many good people even donated their trees to the needy rather than taking them to their own houses. Now that is what you call "good will". Special thanks to Mon Ami for hosting this event. The Darryl Gatlin Show provided the entertainment. You don't want to miss this event next year. It was really fun and for a Good Cause.

United Way and It's Effect on the Community
Are you aware that United Way has moved into the Pharm location (the pharmacy that went out of business a year or so ago) in the Sutton Center on Perry Street? If you have family needs for health, clothing, job assistance, or countless other needs this is the place to go. Their staff will readily assist you. The leaves are falling and another great restaurant to go to!!
Well it's fall in Marblehead and Port Clinton and as I, your roving reporter, sits at my desk looking at the morning sun on my pond and the bluejay pecking at the bird seed, I think to myself. Holy cow!! Where's all the people? And why aren't they sending me news to blog about. So for that reason I will just ramble about how much I love this area and it's people. When we lived in the city people were bustling here, running there, taking their kids to dance classes and soccer and here we sit in this quiet community known as HappyVille with it's peaceful moments and lively happy hours. Is this what we all imagined retired life to be? YES>>>YES""" and YES. Don't you just love it!!! Oh, And I forgot to say how happy I am that J. Bou-Sliman formerly of the Garden will be running the Islander Grille on Sand Rd. That's going to be good!! See you there..

Let's Hear it for Jodie McCallum & Company Fine Art Gallery
I am going to tell you about one of my favorite businesses Jodie McCallum & Company in Marbelehad. Jodie and her husband Grant have become very good business friends of ours. With an extensive background in the publishing industry and being involved with corporations such as Disney, Hasbro, Sesame Street, etc. they have always loved working in the publishing and art business. Consequently, they opened their beautiful art gallery in Marblehead. They include some of the finest talents in the art world and also some new talents they encountered locally. The result is a vast array of diverse artwork that has a WOW factor when you enter their Gallery. They have also instituted a venue known as "The Art of it All" that encompasses the Visual, Performing and Culinary Arts. This event is scheduled on the Gallery Patio each month-May through October and includes some of their gallery's featured artists demonstrating their work, Jazz, Blues & Folk music by some of the most talented groups (some being Grammy Award winners) and also superb food and wine selections supplied by the areas finest restaurants and vintners. This has been a tremendous hit for them. They would like to thank all of the individuals, associations and the community for supporting their efforts to bring "Arts" to this thriving Fine Art Community. Hey Rob and Joy
Good to see you at the Marblehead Chamber Meeting at Runinmuck this past Thursday. That's a fun spot isn't it and the membership fee is so reasonable. Loved their pizza. It's so clean in there too. That's a great meeting room for any size function. Anyway, we look forward to meeting up with you again. Your website is looking good. I'll try to get some pictures to you asap.
